Tommy Helm, Lauren La Bella, and Empire State Studio are pleased to present ‘LInk: Long Island Tattooing, Past and Present’ at 134 Broadway in Amityville, NY, on the second floor. The exhibition will run from September 22, 2018 – November 21, with an opening reception on Saturday, September 22 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
The ‘LInk‘ exhibition explores the tradition of tattooing on Long Island, and examines how this history, established decades earlier, still deeply influences contemporary tattoo culture both locally and internationally. Not only does the exhibition pay homage to the tattoo artists themselves, but also to the tattoo collectors who have supported these artists in the community, and help keep the link of Long Island Tattoo Culture alive and thriving today.
There will be over 40 artists featured in the show, all Long Island-native tattoo artists from Long Island’s premier tattoo shops.
The ‘LInk‘ exhibition will run through November 21, 2018. The artists will be present at the opening reception Saturday, September 22 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Gallery hours are from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. daily, and by appointment.
